About Me

There's an interesting redundancy present when one finds an "About" tab on a website devoted to showcasing the skills of a particular person.

 

But common curiosity, especially in social media times, wants to know more than the website tells or tweet reveals--and since you have clearly clicked the tab, perhaps some additional information is in order.

​

I grew up in central Orange County, California and moved to the South County (we really do capitalize it) early in my teaching career. My wife of 34 years is a seamstress/gardener/home improvement enthusiast. We have three married children, scattered across the continental USA, but frequently in contact with Mom and Dad thanks to various technologies

​

Security for our home is provided by a ferocious-sounding, but sweet-hearted Labrador mix, backed up by a sweet-hearted and mostly silent German Shorthaired Pointer. 

​

It is almost impossible for me to tire of enjoying a strong conversation, consuming Mexican food, reading a good magazine article or helping out some way in my church community.

​

I like donuts more than I should, which is not the same as saying that I eat them more than I should. Discipline is a virtue that I consistently work at exercising (and exercising is a discipline that I hold as a virtue).
